We have a close friend Diego Rosa in São Paulo, Brazil who has started an non-profit called Project The Way to better the lives of the city’s poorest children. He and members of his organization go into the favelas serving 140 kids every week between the ages of 3-13 years old. This poor community is often referred to as the slums of São Paulo which houses over 850 families with 2,000 teenagers and children living in inhumane conditions. Without their help many of those kids will end up taking a wrong road for their future.

Using soccer as the primary means of engaging the children, they provide support in multiple areas of their life, from academics, nutrition, basic english lessons, access to health care, cultural experiences, and ultimately an introduction to a Christian life style. Their main goal is to transform the kids’ lives by empowering them with the mental, physical and spiritual strength to be healthy members of their and the world’s community.
